Shunsuke Amanai holds a BA in Law from Waseda University and prior to entering into executive search, he had over 20 years' experience within the banking business working for a number of banks in both Tokyo and Hong Kong. He had various responsibilities including origination, structuring, execution, and syndication/placement in such areas as debt, asset-backed and structured products. He held senior positions at a number of major global financial firms such as Morgan Grenfell, Bankers Trust and Crédit Lyonnais with responsibilities for both Japanese and Asia Pacific clients.

He subsequently joined a prominent boutique executive search firm in Tokyo in 2005 where he focused on, and completed, a number of senior level search assignments for financial institutions.

He joined Hogarth Davies Lloyd in 2007 and now has overall responsibility for all product areas in Tokyo.
